Smartsheet is seeking a Technical Project Manager to spearhead initiatives within our Product Security Team. You will act as the liaison between stakeholders, security engineers, and cross-functional units. Your role will be pivotal in aligning development activities with the company’s security objectives and broader business goals.
You will report to our Director of Product Security located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You will:
Collaborate with various departments to establish scope, requirements, and effort estimations for security-related projects, such SDL, processes, features, and more.
Lead the execution of security initiatives, coordinating with multiple business functions.
Manage the active work queue, set priorities, identify risks, and communicate these to both the technical team and business stakeholders.
Facilitate daily stand-ups and work prioritization for weekly releases, as well as short-term and long-term security projects.
Ensure that security requirements are well-defined and ready for implementation by our development team.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project teams and business partners, maintaining meticulous documentation and managing cross-stakeholder communication.
Drive decision-making processes with business partners to achieve project objectives.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and scope changes.
Conduct post-project retrospectives to capture learnings and implement improvements for future initiatives.
Manage team capacity by understanding the current state of the project pipeline and making data-driven trade-offs.
Coordinate with internal resources like legal, compliance, and product to align work with proposed schedules and long-term security strategies.
Support colleagues on the Security PMO team in optimizing existing processes and delivering top-tier PMO support.
You have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent PM certification (PMP).
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with a focus on security or development teams.
Fluent in both written and oral English communication.
Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Experience with Jira or similar project management software.
Strong analytical skills in interpreting milestones and identifying project risks.
Ability to break down complex security requirements into actionable tasks.
Proven track record in resource allocation across multiple projects.
High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Technical acumen in security protocols, encryption, and compliance is a strong advantage.
Working knowledge of typical security architecture and workflows.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer.
California & New York: $118,800 to $172,800
All other US States: $110,000 to $160,000
