Job Overview: The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and  — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives. As head of market research, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape and build Coursera’s market research function to drive audience insights at scale and advance Coursera as a customer-led, learner-first organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, you’ll both shape research strategy and execute initiatives that deliver insights to inform key marketing and product strategies. To be successful in the role, you’ll need a combination of strategic thinking, deep research expertise, and strong communications skills to influence senior leaders across the company.  Responsibilities: Build and lead market research strategy and learning agendas to deliver audience insights that support the company’s Consumer, Degrees and Enterprise businesses.    Design and execute high-impact research initiatives using methodologies across qualitative (ie customer interviews, JTBD, ethnographic) and quantitative (ie brand tracking, conjoint, NPS/CSAT).   Deliver audience insights that inform product-market fit, brand strategy, naming, positioning and messaging.  Build and manage innovative brand measurement programs that tie brand health to business metrics and marketing performance.  Synthesize learnings and present research insights to executive and cross functional stakeholders providing actionable recommendations that shape marketing communications and product offerings. Select and manage research agencies to conduct qualitative and quantitative primary research.  Collaborate with Brand and Product Marketers, Product Researchers, and Data Scientists to turn insights into actionable and measurable results.   Basic Qualifications: 8+ years experience in Market Research with expert knowledge in qualitative and quantitative methods Demonstrated hands-on experience independently designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research  Experience partnering with third-party research agencies Experience providing insights that directly contribute to product-market fit, successful product launches and impactful marketing campaigns from definition to execution Preferred Qualifications: Played a leading role in shaping market research and insights functions from a build stage Experience working across both Consumer and Enterprise businesses and audiences.  Experience in an Education or Corporate Learning industries is a plus, but not required.   Degree in the field of research, marketing, or social sciences; MBA a plus If this opportunity interests you, you might like these courses on Coursera: An Introduction to Consumer Neuroscience & Neuromarketing Research Report: Delivering Insights Compensation: Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $134,000 and $181,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
