Job SummaryThis position is accountable for the day-to-day activities of the company’s construction and project accounting, as well as the management of processes. This includes ownership of the related internal controls. The position is also responsible for evaluating current processes and developing and implementing improvements to take advantage of the Oracle system and fixed asset accounting best practices. The position reports to the Manager of Accounting. The position will work closely with other functional areas in the Global Controllership Organization (GL, Tax, and AP). It will support and partner with Data Center Operations, IT, Product, and CTO organizations. What you’ll be doingCollaborate with upstream data owners and cross-functional teams to support comprehensive accounting activities.Liaise with all business units and stakeholders to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.Take charge of monthly reconciliations and audit schedules for Joint Ventures (JVs), collaborating with JV accountants to guarantee the prompt and accurate preparation of reports at month's end.Conduct timely processing of bank transactions, accruals, intercompany dealings, and other pertinent accounting entries.Engage in month-end accounting procedures for one or more JVs.Prepare and post detailed journal entries, manage flux analysis, and fulfill ad hoc reporting requirements.Execute SOX controls and prepare documents provided by clients (PBC).Maintain close working relationships with the Tax, Legal, and Treasury departments to ensure cohesive operations.Drive continuous improvements in the quality and efficiency of accounting processes and systems to enhance team workflow.Foster an entrepreneurial spirit within the team, encouraging innovative thinking and collaborative problem-solving.Support the partnership with upstream data owners, internal and external auditors, and the Global Process Manager in addressing diverse accounting issues.Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all Construction in Progress (CIP) accounting activities each month.Automate, streamline, and enhance CIP accounting processes, promoting operational efficiency.Balance workloads effectively, assign tasks appropriately, and delegate responsibilities among staff to maintain productivity.Collaborate with Operations Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and other business partners to discover and capitalize on new internal cost capitalization opportunities while ensuring processes remain scalable.Uphold the integrity of key accounting processes by comprehensively understanding system functionalities, transaction flows, and internal controls.Act as a representative for Capex accounting in various projects and reviews.Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the upcoming Oracle Cloud Migration project, specifically regarding CIP accounting.Interpret and apply relevant company accounting policies and procedures to provide timely guidance and informed decision-making.Oversee ad-hoc projects and respond to data and analysis requests from business partners.What we’ll expect from youBS/BA in Accounting or Finance required. CPA / MBA preferredStrong use of ERP / Accounting systems. Knowledge of Oracle R12/Oracle Cloud and Hyperion preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley is a plusExperience with IFRS is idealProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelExcellent analytical skills.
