Financial Accountant

Job Summary:This role will play a key part of the reporting process for the core business across the group, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to all stakeholders.  The Financial Accountant will ensure accounting policies and controls are applied consistently and a high standard of commentary is provided on financial results.Key responsibilities and dutiesPreparation of month end reporting pack for individual entities, in particular Splendour in the Grass and Falls FestivalAnalyse variances against forecast and provide commentaryPreparation of balance sheet reconciliationsLiaise with Festival managers and other key stakeholders to ensure revenue and expenses are accurateLiaise with festival stakeholders and provide information as requiredPreparation of monthly management reports required by internal stakeholders and regional officeAccountability for preparation of accurate and insightful variance analysis and commentary Capital expenditure reporting and analysisLiaising with external auditors and accountants as part of preparation of financial statements Review of processes to ensure internal controls standards are met and documentedDrive process improvement for transactional and financial accounting teams including implementation of new controls requiredPerform administration & integrity of the general ledger to ensure accuracy of financial transactionsAssist the Group Reporting Manager with the consolidation and reporting of results and acting as key liaison for accounting policies and issues Special assignments as directed by the Group Reporting Manager and Finance DirectorSkills and experienceExperience in month end and financial statements preparation is essentialProven track record in ability in managing multiple projects within a fast paced, creative and challenging environmentExperience across complex group structuresExposure to mid-to-large size ERP system is beneficial (Oracle ideal)Strong attention to detail and can-do attitudeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCreative industries experience very highly regarded
