We ingest, organize, clean, test, normalize, curate, organize, and document the company's data to empower everyone to power their operations and answer complex questions. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Manager to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data within WP Engine.Role Overview:As a Principal Product Manager, you will be a key contributor to our mission, taking charge of guiding discovery and research initiatives to identify impactful and effortless solutions for our data offerings. Your responsibilities will include defining and building products that enhance our data platform and empower our internal customers. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization, you will create the data for our teams to succeed in product, marketing, sales, support, and finance, all while advancing the state of the art of our internal data platform. You will leverage your product experience and technical know-how to propel continuous advancements and improvements through strategic product planning.Own the internal customer experience: What it means to find, understand, and use data as an analyst, or to change data as an engineer, not just on the data team but engineers on other teams.Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data to develop high-quality insights into our business and our customers.Technical Product Strategy: Work with engineer architects to create and implement a technical product strategy for infrastructure and analytics.Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organization, developing a deep understanding of our business.Product Backlog Management: Work with your Product Managers to build and groom a prioritized product backlog effectively by leading negotiation and trade-off discussions with key partners.Lead Scrum teams and Program Management when applicable towards the right priorities, setting clear expectations on projects, deliveries, and change-management.User-Story Development: Write excellent user stories, with thoughtful acceptance criteria, that can be translated into engineering work.Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.Agile Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to design, schedule, and deliver in an agile environment.Minimum Qualifications:8+ years of Product Management experience in data-heavy environments.Deep understanding of data-centric technologies, including databases, data warehousing, data processing frameworks, and data governance.Demonstrated success in influencing partners across multiple functions in an organization, with a specific focus on data stakeholders.Solid knowledge and experience in the software implementation life-cycle, especially in the context of data product development (Agile, Iterative, Incremental, etc.).History of successfully launching and managing the product lifecycle across multiple data-centric products.Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data product features, technical designs, and product strategy effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.Hands-on experience in defining and building scalable data systems.High attention to detail and experience leading multiple, contending priorities simultaneously, particularly in the realm of data product management.Proven history of teamwork and a willingness to roll up one's sleeves to push data-focused projects over the finish line.People Management experience preferred but not requiredAt WP Engine, we strive to have the broadest possible view of diversity, going beyond visible differences to include the background, experiences, skills, and perspectives that make each person unique.
