eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Software Engineer in San Jose, CAJob Duties: Oversee the site reliability engineering infrastructure for eBay's Selling domain, an essential function of the eBay organization. Ensure all operating systems and applications have the ability to scale. Responsible for overseeing a team of engineers in their development of reliable technical infrastructure for the Selling domain. Ensure team develops infrastructure to constantly improve the systems' availability, reliability, and performance for request and response flows. Ensures the completeness, correctness, and freshness of the internal data pipelines. Oversee observability and alerting tooling to monitor the health of the domain's ecosystem. Develop high-level strategic plans for infrastructure and software issues, train team on best practices, and oversee root cause analysis for acute incidents. Ensure eBay's site and its Selling Domain perform within established SLOs. Oversee Selling Domain product developers to ensure they follow SRE best practices and exercises high-level authority to remove any impediments to team's work.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements: 1.    Software development with Java, C#, Ruby, Python, or Javascript2.    Software frameworks: Ruby on Rails, or Django3.    Application monitoring with StatsD, Grafana, prometheus, DataDog or NewRelic4.    Work with MySQL, MongoDB, Elastic, or SOLR databases, including schema optimizations5.    Systems orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker6.    Linux system internals 7.    Distributed software and applications performance optimizations.Base salary:  $184,662-234,850 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
