eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CAJob Duties: Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tiered distributed software applications. Analyze software product requirements and transform them into scalable technical designs by collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers. Develop best-in-class test automation code for software, carry out functional and non-functional testing including web accessibility, product app security, server-side load and performance, and client-side page speed. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time-critical environment. Develop software code and lead code review sessions. Create automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Work with other engineers, managers, product management, quality analysts, and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs concerning functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Estimate engineering efforts, plan execution cycles, and roll out system changes.  Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the US. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered, as a MTS 1, Software Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered, as a MTS 1, Software Engineer, or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements: 1.    Object oriented programming2.    REST APIs3.    SQL4.    NoSQL5.    Github (Version control)6.    Design patterns7.    A/B testing8.    Scaling code9.    Code optimization for performanceBase salary:  184,662-234,850 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
