There will be up to 4 roles at different levels within our team, and you will work a 24/7 rotating shift roster along with junior and senior engineer and specialists.Ideally applicants will have substantial understanding of our critical infrastructure technical knowledge to adjust to the role quickly, enabling you to work on assignments that are at times sophisticated, requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations.Key Responsibilities:Facility / Infrastructure MaintenancePerforms preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components and installations and on-site inspections to facility systems. Supports energy efficiency measuresMonitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves difficult alarm issues that require an engineering mindset when resolving while following standard operating procedures (SOP's)Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems and all other infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staffVendor SupportSupports the work approval process for service providers on maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried outEnsures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's SOP's and in cooperation with vendors, supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-dateSite Administration & Incident SupportPerforms sometimes complex site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and engineering scriptsIdentifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendations when requiredResponds to all on-site incidents, including failures, problems and delays, using substantial understanding in following operating procedures to support on-site administration, this includes participating in 24 by 7 Shift Roster as per Equinix Policy and within the TeamWork Orders & Additional ProjectsCompletes routine work requests and circuit installationsTroubleshoots and maintains office equipment (if needed); supports auxiliary equipment and machines with problem solving and repairs to avoid/minimize downtimeMakes minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as instructed and carries out infrastructure projects in collaboration with cross-functional teamsCollaborationCollaborates with others to resolve difficult facility incidents, working effectively within the department and may mentor team members on general maintenance activitiesProvides account of inventory needs in order to maintain efficient stock levels of critical parts and equipment and offers solutions on infrastructure projectsQualifications:TAFE Diploma or University Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics) and relevant work experience ideally in data centers or mission critical environmentsBenefits of the role:Permanent role at a static site within the inaugural Australian HyperScale Data Center for EquinixSalary package including healthcare allowance, annual bonus as well as access to financial, wellbeing and company benefits and consulting!Progression and development opportunities within the site and cluster, with a clearly defined career path within the Critical Facilities Engineering teams!Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
