About the team:eBay’s global Government Relations team represents the interests of eBay and its community of users before governments and public organizations around the world through legislative & regulatory work, advocacy programs and commerce policy thought leadership.The role:We are looking to fill the position of Senior Manager EU Affairs at the eBay EU Liaison Office in Brussels. This Brussels-based position reports directly to the Director EU Affairs, requires at least 7-8 years of relevant experience and is part of the eBay EMEA Government Relations team. As Senior Manager you will take on the following responsibilities in close coordination with the Director EU Affairs:Analyzing relevant legislative and regulatory proposals, assessing the impact to the business, and building comprehensive strategies to advocate accordingly with EU Institutional policy makers, regulators and other relevant partners ;Driving eBay seller advocacy campaigns aimed at the EU Institutions in close coordination with eBay’s seller advocacy team ;Briefing and advising EU and international senior leadership on specific political, regulatory and legislative matters ;Developing and leading proactive measures to positively influence the public policy dialog on e-commerce and in particular 3rd party marketplaces ;Building coalitions and leveraging third-party customers and trade associations to achieve advocacy goals.We are looking for a passionate professional, a driven teammate with experience in the tech and commerce sector, who is eager to take ownership and lead our engagement on a number of key EU dossiers in areas of great relevance to eBay and its millions of users (including hundreds of thousands of SME sellers). Specific subject matter areas include platform regulation, consumer protection, circular economy, tax, customs regulation, AI, competition, IPR and payment services.Join us in representing one of the largest online commerce companies in the world in a highly dynamic internal and external environment!Education, Skills and Experience of our ideal candidate include:A University Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in political science or law;Minimum of 7 years full-time government relations experience; multi-national experience preferred ;Full proficiency in English is indispensable ; another EU language a plus ;Thorough understanding of the EU Institutional, legislative, regulatory and political processes;Existing and proven network among EU Institutions is indispensable ;Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills ;Superb organizational skills; adept at juggling multiple responsibilities ;A demonstrated ability to develop and implement advocacy campaigns ;A creative and strategic problem solver with leadership skills to effectively work with and influence diverse audiences, both internal and external ;A self-starter with an ability to work independently while collaborating closely with local and remote colleagues ;Results-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment ;Experience navigating complex, multi-cultural business structures ;Flexible, adaptable, and a proven ability to turn challenges into opportunities ;A strong sense of humor is required.Benefits:Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day.
