If you want a brilliant, fast-paced, mission-driven environment, then Illumina is the place for you.The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that no one in the market is creating.Scope of Responsibilities:Collaborate with product owners and other application developers to design, code, and maintain high quality applications against established processes in a scrum team setting.Work with software teams to ensure alignment of architecture to user requirements.Collaborate effectively with resources working in different geographical regions.Able to lead complex investigation and resolution of technical problems within the department.Implementation of bugfixes, improvement and new storiesListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Preferred Skills and Experience:Considerable knowledge and experience with Java, J2EE and application servers (such as JBoss or WildFly)Considerable experience designing and implementing software quality patterns and practices (continuous integration, static analysis, unit testing, integrated testing)Deep understanding of SOA, software security architecture, REST APIs, and other architectural patternsProficient with source control management repositories (such as GIT, SVN, etc.) and CM practicesGood understanding of object oriented analysis and designExperience with Java web application development, CSS, JavaScript,Vaadin knowledge is an advantageHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plusDemonstrated success in collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established agile development methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedulesDesirable Skills and Experience:Experience with cloud technologies and distributed event-driven architecturePossess proven troubleshooting skills.Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly.Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks.Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships.Have proven verbal and written communication skills.All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Preferred Education BackgroundTypically requires significant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or extensive experience and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with considerable experience.What can you expectOur team members are bright, energetic and dedicated - they are the driving force behind our innovation and impact.
