Senior Director, AI EngineeringDescription -Responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for a specific software product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Individuals in these roles may have responsibilties across multiple software engineering disciplines oh which the goal is the development of creative, industry-leading, software services and solutions.Responsibilities:Working in conjunction with other HP Engineering Divisions, establish a long-range strategy and near-term roadmap to drive engineering efficiency for the respective product or team.Lead, attract, grow, and retain engineers, engineering leaders, and technical program managers in a globally distributed organization.Build, deliver and support high-quality sets of new horizontal and vertical engineering solutions. This includes directing the analysis and design of large-scale programs and products.Partner effectively with functional leader counterparts (engineering, program/product management, design, ops) to ensure ongoing alignment, solve issues, track engineering dependencies, and build solutions using other groups apps, platforms, and experience.Drive product execution with clarity, including helping to translate big picture capabilities to specific set of problems to solve.Knowledge & Skills:Superior ability to understand and apply various cultural norms in order to influence multinational teams with various motivational drivers through subordinate managers.Proactively assigns or reassigns resources based upon business need and criticality of major projects or deliverables.Leads management of human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.Organizational leader as it relates to undersanding of HP's projects and services including technical knowledge of multiple business units spanning numerous countries and expertise in multiple applications and breaking technologies.Effortlessly transitions between tasks or projects where preliminary guidance is low and ambiguity is high.Scope & Impact:Drives the strategy and success of the organization's most critical projects which contribute to multiple areas of the organization.Oversees the overall quality of work and delivery of the functional team.Decisions with regard to products or strategy often have organizational impacts of up to 5 years.Complexity:High: Extensive cross-functional/cross-organizational senior management interface; deals with complex strategic issues.Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, and techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in HP’s most complex disciplines.Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.
