About the Role This is a position within the DevOps Database Administration team working under the guidance of the Senior DevOps Lead. The Senior Database Administrator (Senior DBA) must be a detail and process oriented, independent, self-motivated individual with experience configuring and operating large scale SQL databases. Responsibilities Maintain databases for all relevant environments in all regions to support development, QA and 24x7 production business-critical information systems Continually implement improvements to database performance, efficiency and security Implement fault-tolerant, high availability database architecture with cross-region replication and failover capabilities Implement, test/verify and maintain database backup, restore, snapshots and disaster recovery Collaborate with operations, engineering and software development teams on database query optimization and the implementation of database management best practices Evaluate, test and deploy database changes and code to enable new system deployments, features and improvements Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation schedule to respond to escalated issues that impact production systems
