Summary Posted: Jan 19, 2024 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200521331 We are seeking an experienced and motivated senior Operation Engineer to join our Machine Learning Platform Technology (MLPT) team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth, reliable, and efficient operation of our platform. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of working experience in computer science related field, operation background is preferred Proven experience in managing and operating production platform and services Experience with automation tools and frameworks like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc. Experience with containerization technologies like, Docker and Kubernetes Proficient in command-line tools and shell scripting Description Description As an Operations Engineer, you'll play a meaningful role in streamlining our operations and unlocking the power of machine learning. You'll work closely with program managers, engineers, data scientists, and other operations specialists to: - Maintain a smooth operation of the platform, from health monitoring to reconfiguration, scaling, and apply security fixes - Build and maintain robust automation infrastructure: Implement and manage automation tools and libraries, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems. - Guides software deployments through testing, staging, and production, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal downtime. - Proactively tests and implements new technologies to enhance the platform's functionality, security, and efficiency. - Analyzes resource usage and costs, identifying areas for optimization. Implements cost-saving measures to ensure the platform is running efficiently and economically. Education & Experience Education & Experience Bachelors degree or Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in related fields Additional Requirements Additional Requirements - Effective Communication: Explains complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences - Problem-Solving and Analysis: Identifies, analyzes, and resolves challenging technical issues with strong analytical skills - Independent and Collaborative: Works effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams - Continuous Learning: Actively seeks out new technologies and possesses a strong desire to learn quickly and independently Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
