Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading complex negotiation processes across various purchasing segments within a startup or high-growth company. This individual will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be adept at building and managing relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the indirect procurement function by developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies across multiple purchasing segments, including but not limited to R&D materials, facility services, and capital equipment.
Manage daily purchasing activities within Coupa to ensure efficient procure 2 pay process.
Maintain the supplier database, purchasing records, and related documentation.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
Research market intelligence & make strategic recommendations for purchasing SaaS requirements for the organization.
Identify cost savings opportunities or negotiation strategies within the procurement of capital expenditures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless procurement processes and timely delivery of goods and services.
Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to drive operational efficiency and cost optimization.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and service levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a start-up organization highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
Proven experience (7 years) in leading complex negotiation processes and managing procurement activities within a startup or high-growth company.
Ideal candidate will have a creative/inquisitive attitude with an ability identify new and better ways; active external learner that takes advantage of ideas, best practices, and solutions developed elsewhere.
Strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain management principles, including sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in using procurement and supply chain management software and tools.
Ability to change direction and adapt to change easily.
