Summary Posted: Jan 12, 2024 Role Number: 200534259 Do something different! Apple is looking for a world class engineer that can help identify and incubate new display technologies. You will work with both suppliers and internal teams at Apple to craft the display related technologies that go into Apple products. A successful candidate will not only need to identify new tech, but also educate a broad audience of people at Apple about their benefits and tradeoffs.
This position is focusing on the development, prototyping, and communication of display backplane technologies for future Apple products. The team features a diverse engineering roster including panel engineers, optical engineers, human perception experts, product design engineers, and experimental physicists. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self motivated. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker who is able to problem solve outside of their respective technical area. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Drive transistor technology development for the next generation display application. Identify transistor requirement for sophisticated display application. Analyze the trade-offs between transistor design, process, performance, and implementation feasibility. Collaborate with vendor on transistor development; design test keys, conduct failure analysis and define corrective action DOE to resolve critical issues in panel fabrication process Develop and maintain TCAD models for device simulation Develop and maintain transistors compact models for circuit simulation tools Devise methodologies to extract model parameters from I-V and C-V data Lead device and circuit simulations to evaluate new backplane transistor technologies and display architectures Shepard new technologies into both external supplier and internal product roadmaps. Description Description - Solid experience in transistor technology development such as silicon FETs or TFTs.
- Deep understanding of device physics, characterization, physical analysis techniques.
- Knowledge in semiconductor/flat panel display or related fabrication technologies
- Experience in managing domestic and international vendors, include failure analysis and process qualification
- Solid experience in design-of-experiment and data analysis
- Experience in device simulation, transistor compact model development or circuit simulation
- Background in panel design, and/or analog/mixed-signal IC design, and panel characterization is a plus
- Proficiency in data analysis using coding languages such as Python or Matlab.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving skills Education & Experience Education & Experience B.S. in EE or related fields and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
