We are looking for a Robotics Engineer Manager for Isaac ML-based Planning technology for Autonomous Mobile Robots.Autonomous mobile robots are becoming more ubiquitous in real-world applications. Today, robots are expected to handle increasingly sophisticated tasks in a wide range of environments, from industrial facilities to public spaces.Nvidia is a pioneer in revolutionizing AI & Robotics, and we are seeking an experienced and accomplished robotics lead for our Isaac ML-based Planning team. The team plays a pivotal role in advancing the capabilities of mobile robots, enabling them to complete sophisticated tasks across diverse environments using ground breaking machine learning solutions.What you’ll be doing:Define the roadmap for the Isaac ML-based Planning and Control technology that can deliver production-grade world-class solutions to customers and platform partners.Define deliveries and work packages, and help synchronize the missions and dependencies across the other teams.Drive the technical decisions and designs to build the next-gen Planner stack, using pioneering AI / ML approaches for foundation models..Collaborate & support other Isaac teams, Sim, Platform and SQA to deploy, validate, and extend the capabilities & features on physical robots as well as on at-scale simulationsSupervise and support the team on design and code reviews (C++, Python, Pytorch and Nvidia TAO toolkit).Mentor and supervise a team of robotics SW engineersWhat we need to see:PhD in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant field for robotics, or equivalent experience​8+ years of overall relevant experience. 4+ years of experience leading a team.Hands-on experience with real-time autonomous system project (robotics, autonomous driving etc)Experience in designing and deploying innovative and capable machine learning based planning & prediction models in embedded computer units.Experience with managing projects and teams of similar nature and challengeExcellent communication, analysis and problem solving skillsWays to stand out from the crowd:Prior experience with techniques in imitation learning, reinforcement learning and LLMs/VLMs for autonomous mobile robots.Prior experience shipping autonomous robots products.Publications at international robotics conferences (ICRA, IROS, CoRL, etc)NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers with some of the most forward-thinking and dedicated people in the world working here.
