We are looking for a highly motivated and self driven Engineering Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of Diagnostics and Repair Software Quality Engineers. You are responsible for ensuring the functionality of AppleCare’s Field Diagnostics and Repair SW tools for both legacy Apple devices and New Product lines (NPI)as expected by design. Field Diagnostics and Repair SW tools are important assets to Apple, since these facilitate accurate triage and resolution of product issues experienced by our customers and provide key performance data throughout the life of the product that support continuous improvement. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Established record managing SW quality deliverables during the entire lifecycle of new software projects (i.e. requirement definition, architecture and design, planning, development, qualification, go-live and sustaining). Experience developing test plans for SW projects, including collaboration with key partners to identify key SW features to be challenged via QA testing. Experience managing day-to-day operations, including prioritization (people, space, equipment), processes and systems (material allocation and management, HW take-apart, reassembly and testing, test environment navigation), and metrics (definition, ownership, and actions). Ability to identify and communicate improvements for test, operations, and business processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate complex topics in simple language. Experience speaking publicly at all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to senior leadership. Description Description In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing test plans that challenge the functionality and performance of Field Diagnostics and Repair SW tools, as well as collaborating with cross-functional engineering partners to identify bugs and qualify corrective fixes to client, server, platform and support software and services to ensure functionality and performance. You will have to work cross functionally with QA team members across GEOs to ensure that all teams stay aligned on QA processes and overall deliverables for the team. Responsibilities include; Align with iOS and MacOS architecture, security and engineering teams partners to align on strategy, program schedules, requirements, and testing resources. Participate in diagnostic and repair SW tools architecture discussions to understand scope of testing. Provide weekly status updates on high-visibility projects to senior leadership and execs in Repair and Diagnostic Bi-Weekly meetings. Provide technical leadership during execution of test plans, overcoming challenges and identifying impactful bugs. Intimate familiarity with troubleshooting, debugging, and disassembling most Apple hardware and software products, as well as navigating test environment challenges. Partner with Operations teams to source incoming repair modules used during the qualification of diagnostic and repair SW tools for hardware programs. Provide insight and act as source of tribal knowledge into inner workings of diagnostics system (AST 2) and related infrastructures outside of our direct realm.
