This will include managing Linux based cloud/virtual servers, developing automation and managing High Performance Computing (HPC) servers and storage systems. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to work with a multitude of cutting-edge technologies within our High-Performance Computing (HPC) team and gain exposure to cloud (AWS/Google Cloud), Big Data Analytics, and AI and Machine Learning infrastructure. Tasks and Responsibilities:Follow standard practice and implement solutions that meet business requirements and align with defined strategies.Provide technical expertise in design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and resilient AWS or GCP cloud environments.Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and orchestration of infrastructure components.Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the HPC and Linux based software delivery process.Provide exceptional technical support managing compute and storage infrastructure in data centers (on-prem and remote) and in the cloud. Work with local and remote teams for engineering and operations supporting critical infrastructure Create detailed documentation for implementations, guides, and training. Adhere to corporate change management policies and practices and perform 24X7 on call responsibilities in a global follow the sun model.Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, learn quickly, and master diverse technologies Previous experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, HIPAA, etc.) a plus. All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Role Requirements: Expert level experience of Deployment and Config Management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Foreman, etc.Implement and optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions for automated deployment and management.Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience5+ years of expertise managing AWS and/or GCP cloud resources efficiently, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.5+ years supporting enterprise compute in a Red Hat and Debian based Linux distributions at an expert level for troubleshooting and administration.At least 2+ years of professional experience working within a data center or network operation center environment. Expert level Experience on NAS file system and S3 type of object storage with emphasis on AWS S3 and Dell/EMC storage. Working knowledge of scripting/programming skills with understanding of Python and/or Bash Very good understanding of network concepts for interconnectivity of storage and compute serversFamiliarity of HPC job schedulers like SGE/ Slurm / PBS administration is preferred.All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical disciplineAWS and/or GCP is preferred. RedHat Certification is preferred.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Illumina believes that everyone has the ability to make an impact, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, citizenship status, and genetic information.
