Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Due to internal promotion, Illumina is excited to be recruiting a Head of Market Access for our Europe region.  The Head of Market Access will be leading the Field Market Access Team in driving coverage and reimbursement of Next Generation Sequencing-based clinical testing including applications in oncology, reproductive health and rare genetic diseases, based on sound clinical and economic utility evidence.   As Head of Market Access, you will be part of the Europe Leadership team.To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in diagnostics/Medical Technology Market Access, and experience in oncology or rare genetic diseases preferred. This role can be based in any European hub and the role requires both domestic and international travel up to 50% of your time.The RoleAs Head of Market Access, your position plays a pivotal role in leading this critical function at the forefront of driving patient access for genomics through partnerships with European Payers. This role requires strong leadership skills, with both strategic vision and tactical capabilities to develop regional strategies and translate them into tactics to drive execution. To be successful in this role you will be a strong collaborator leading internal interactions with multiple functions (e.g., Marketing, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Commercial, Global Market Access Teams and members of the Regional Senior Leadership team) to drive the execution of the Plan of Action for Market Access in Europe. External relationships will include Payers, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies and other stakeholders involved in reimbursement decisions such as Key Opinion Leaders, patient advocates, Trade Associations, and professional organizations.Why You To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated extensive experience in dealing with payer and HTA submissions, reimbursement, and pricing in relevant local markets with success getting products reimbursed.  You will have a deep understanding of payer decision making processes and evidence required to obtain reimbursement for healthcare products in Europe.  You will have an extensive understanding and experience in diagnostics / Health Technology product commercialization across therapeutic areas or multiple indications is desirable. Responsibilities include Develop comprehensive strategic business plans and tactical action plans to address the evolving reimbursement-related issues impacting the healthcare environment, the genomics ecosystem and Illumina’s business. This includes integrated local market access plans for key products, including identifying the clinical and economic evidence needed by payers and HTA bodies, in alignment with Medical Affairs, while identifying interdependencies across functions to ensure Illumina portfolio leverage with payers.Lead the local roll-out & adaptation of the global value package for launching new products in collaboration with the local cross-functional teams, including Commercial.Scan external environment and evaluate threats and opportunities arising out of legislation, regulations, HTAs, Government/Health Authorities, public and private payers. Determine their implications—including impact on current and future products—and take action accordingly to protect, expand or create patient access to ILMN products. Ability to communicate changes in a timely, concise, and clear manner to relevant internal stakeholders within and outside of the Market Access function.Manage the external environment and the impact of payer/medical policy by mapping the decision-making process, identifying the relevant external and internal stakeholders to drive coverage and reimbursement for ILMN’s clinical tests. For major launches, champion local evidence generation and peer-reviewed publication strategy in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Development, and Regulatory Affairs; translate clinical strategy into downstream commercialization efforts. Contribute to product strategy by aligning product and study design to meet Payers’ expectations, supported by primary and secondary Payer research where appropriate.Build and own strong relationships with key Payers & stakeholder network to drive change in reimbursement. Be the main point of contact to local Payers; work with Commercial teams, Market Development, and Medical Affairs to gather feedback from key opinion leaders / payers and understand reimbursement pathways.Cross-functional alignment with other functional areas (Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Marketing) to ensure appropriate value communication with local payers through the different channels available.Develop and maintain a seamless interface with the Global Market Access team members to ensure regional data and value proposition requirements are represented effectively, early best-practice sharing & early communication of issues/opportunities while identifying the needs required to deal with them.Ensure full representation and participation of Market Access function in Regional and Country Commercial team meetings.
