Analytical ChemistDescription -What an Analytical Chemist does at HP:Design Analytical Chemistry solutions for Ink processes development, technologies, and formulations for product design and manufacturing based on established chemistry and engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.Develop and implement chemical process and operating equipment specifications, chemical formulations, and test plans for new and existing products; assists manufacturing partners with issue diagnosis and problem-solving.Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced research and development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.Lead a project team of other chemists and chemical engineers and internal and outsourced research and development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.Represent the chemistry team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.Typically 4-6 years experience.Experience with and understanding of chemistry concepts, practices, and laboratory proceduresStrong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong understanding and experience in designing chemical formulations and processes and associated production tooling and processes.Defining and performing chemical and process analysis to test formulations and resolve manufacturing issues.Ability to effectively communicate process architectures and product formulations, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.Must have experience in any tools related to Chromatography (LC-MS/GC-MS/GPC/CE), Spectroscopy (FTIR/TGA), Elemental Analysis (ICP-OES) and Thermal material (TGA/DSC) measurement including precision hands on in the area of sample preparation.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
