Apple’s Services Finance Data Science & Engineering (DSE) team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Data Engineer. As members of the Services & Finance DSE team, we work with various business and engineering teams to understand current and future business initiatives, track the business' performance, and identify areas of improvements. Our team enables data-driven decision making by performing analysis, modeling, and visualization of unstructured data. In this role you will provide a key function in scaling our data platform and assets for the Service Finance’s data community. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional experience with building pipelines with the following tools: Modern DB solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres), Scheduling solutions such as Airflow, CICD tools such as Github and Jenkins, and Cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS Strong Python programmer Expert SQL programmer Strong experience interacting with APIs and wrangling request outputs Strong experience using ticketing software for Engineers (e.g. JIRA) Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical results to a non-technical audience Well-organized and self-motivated. Comfortable advancing multiple priorities at once on tight schedules Description Description As members of the DSE team, we work with Finance and Business leaders to deliver data-driven insights to increase value and manage risks for Apple. We need to be persistent and flexible in extracting data from various sources, cleaning and curating data, and clearly and concisely summarizing insights. The individual in this role will collaborate with data scientists, business analysts and subject matter experts (SME) to acquire, and transform raw data and develop sophisticated data products. This includes developing and maintaining data pipelines, extracting from different sources (databases, APIs, etc.), and transforming raw data into structured and scalable datasets. A successful data engineer is skilled in taking complex business problems and translating them into a data solution in close collaboration with data scientists, business analysts, and SMEs. Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,500 and $179,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
