Senior Manager - Revenue RecognitionInfinera is looking for a motivated candidate to join its revenue team. Role involves collaborating with account management team to guide on sales transactions & programs proactively so as to enable revenue recognition as soon as possible while maintaining full compliance with US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) requirements. The individual is expected to be the subject matter expert providing clear and final revenue recognition guidance for teams to follow. The role includes providing leadership to sales regions on key issues, project managing whitepapers, advising on emerging issues and ad hoc policy issues, working in conjunction with the compliance team to ensure Infinera policy and US GAAP has been properly implemented. Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!Provide technical accounting guidance to various Infinera stakeholders across the company to ensure accurate accounting, reporting and disclosure of Infinera's financial statements.Act as the primary technical accounting resource for the company by researching, resolving and documenting accounting issues that arise during the quarter.Assess the impact of the new revenue recognition accounting standards (ASC 606)Assist in the review of revenue disclosures for external financial reporting, including 10Q's, 10K's and 8K's and assist in ensuring compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.Work with the pricing committee to provide revenue assurance in the pricing models.Work with the Sales team to provide guidance on deal structure while maintaining adherence to revenue recognition policy and booking requirementsFair Value Study (Standalone Selling Price) co-ordination and reviewProvide technical accounting assistance with special projects such as Quote to CashManage the process of maintaining Corporate Revenue Accounting Policy including regular updates of all accounting policies.Prepare and present technical accounting updates to the finance organization as needed.Prepare data and other support information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external auditors.Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are met for relevant areas (e.g. disclosure controls, policy review controls etc).Provide ongoing support and training to finance teams to enable them to be self-sufficient with their policy and process understanding.Work with Sales, Sales Operations, Commercial Managers, Pricing and Legal during contract negotiations and provide suggestions and assistance in order to ensure proper revenue recognitionReview revenue related contracts and apply revenue recognition guidelines and document the assessment in contract memorandums.Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!BA/BS in Finance/Accounting; CPA requiredMinimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in technology companies including Big 4 public accounting firm experience;Proficient in researching accounting literatureSAP and SAP RAR experience preferredMust be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teamsMust be able to effectively manage critical deadlinesAbility to work in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situationsSelf-motivated, strong work ethics and able to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlinesInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
