The Senior Director of Solution Engineering (Presales) is responsible for leading Workiva's Solution Engineering organization in Europe to enable sales growth and overall company goals and objectives in the region. This is a second-line leadership position, responsible for building a sustainable Solution Engineering organization with a focus on talent development, engagement and retention.What You’ll Do    Team LeadershipLead and scale a sustainable Solution Engineering organization with high levels of team engagement Provide team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities including leadership development Maintains an atmosphere of respect, mutual support, flexibility, continuous learning and commitment to business goalsOperations ManagementShape overarching strategies and empower Solutions Engineering teams to execute sales initiatives with efficiency and effectiveness.Lead Solution Engineering Managers and teams to maximize their potential and align their efforts with sales goals.Develop best practices and offer guidance on Workiva platform expertise and understanding customer needs.Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management to ensure team success.Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership, contributing insights for account planning and presales strategies.Strategic DevelopmentDevise and implement strategies, tools, and metrics to foster organizational growth.Identify training needs and maintain team motivation to achieve set goals.Conduct ongoing analysis of industry trends and customer feedback to pinpoint process improvement opportunities.Provide advice on technical architecture and operations, encouraging adoption within the sales process.Sales and Organizational PartnershipForge a strategic partnership with sales executive leadership, aligning presales strategies with overall sales objectives.Lead presales activities, including comprehensive needs analysis and impactful product demonstrations.Drive seamless collaboration with Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Implementation, and Sales teams for robust solution development and delivery Proactively gather field feedback to fine-tune product development and continuous Workiva platform elevationWhat You'll NeedMinimum Qualifications     12+ years of related career experience in Presales, Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering or similar in a technology organization - preferably SaaSUndergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and related career experience Preferred Qualifications    8+ years of people management experience - including leading other people managers strongly preferredDemonstrated success scaling and developing Presales, Solution Consulting or Sales Engineering teams for innovation and successExcellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills and the ability to infuse these skills to team membersProven capability to collaborate with senior leadership across Sales, Implementation, Marketing, Partnerships and Product to overcome obstacles, manage complexity and delivery resultsExcellent business acumen and a deep understanding of complex business processes and their implementation into enterprise applicationsComprehensive understanding of the internal processes of a company’s finance function and processesExperience with business intelligence technologies, databases or data management platforms desired (SAP, Oracle, Workday or similar)Understanding of Workiva solutions and how it can be applied to multiple industries and domainsTravel Requirements & Working Conditions30% travel for both customer and internal meetingsReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva officeWhere You’ll WorkOur values drive how we work and who we hire.
