The Director of Software Engineering is pivotal in orchestrating and overseeing multiple engineering squads aligned with our company's visionary product roadmap and overarching strategic objectives. The primary mandate is to lead and navigate these squads through the comprehensive software delivery continuum. This role doesn’t involve hands-on work with the code and is oriented toward planning executive strategies and managing other managers and teams. About you – experience, education, skills and accomplishments 12+ years of progressive Object-Oriented development of which 5+ years in a modern programming language such as .NET (preferred) or Java 6+ years of technical leadership experience managing a team of other Managers or Lead Engineers 6+ years of experience in delivering and managing highly complex software products and SaaS applications It would be great if you also had . . . BS/MS in Computer Science or another related discipline Strong understanding of software delivery methodologies, continuous delivery and security best practices with experience of working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment Experience with working in a matrix organization within a multi-national company and multicultural environment Strong technical background on cloud-native applications, event-driven architecture, system integration patterns, TDD/BDD and similar Ability to think strategically and execute methodically to manage and execute on multiple project timelines and manage competing priorities Experience in building trusted relationships and influencing others, particularly with stakeholders and leadership teams across all levels and cross-functions within the organization What will you be doing in this role? Lead and navigate Engineering teams through the comprehensive SDLC process—from initial conceptualization and design to support, and sustained innovation Leads team(s) to develop new methods and solve complex matters Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives and translates that strategy into functional plans and guides to execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectivesInteracts with senior management, executives, and/or major customers which frequently involves negotiating matters of significance to the organization Working with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders help define and build product roadmaps and priorities Making final decisions on implementation and ensuring operational effectiveness Product you will be developing IPG applications are designed to securely manage and support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the entire IP lifecycle. About the team You will be directly managing team of 2+ managers/senior managers while your indirect team will be consisted of more than 30 developers working on several different renewals platforms, (as well as different stacks) originating from previous mergers and acquisitions.
