Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.About the Role:CrowdStrike is looking for a network engineer who has a solid track record of building and operating ultra-high capacity backbone networks. In this role, you will be responsible for the production backbone network. You will develop and maintain the expansion of our metro and global fiber footprint. You will drive both our lit and dark fiber from strategy through implementation. This is an ideal role for an optical planner that wants to work in a hyper-scale environment.What You’ll Do: Develop a plan to evolve the fiber backbone to achieve resiliency, and latency requirementsContinuously work with carriers and external partners to identify new fiber routes and lit pathsDesign, implement and support the backbone optical network for both long haul and metro.Work with engineering and sourcing to support backbone fiber acquisitions strategiesCreate and maintain route maps (KMZs) for fiber and lit paths.Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive milestonesContributing to capacity planning, forecasting, and create plans for growthMaintain circuit inventory, lifecycle and spendModel ad-hoc, what-if scenarios, including greenfield and brownfield demand and supply scenarios to set strategyPrepare status/progress reports and updates management on projects. Participate in development of reportsParticipate in a 24X7 on-call rotationWhat You'll Need:​Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
