This is a full time, Summer Internship that is based in San Jose, California. Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our IT team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning.As an IT Service Desk Intern, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides technical support to Calix employees. You will assist with IT projects, documentation, and inventory as needed. You will also learn to handle incoming requests via the ticketing system, and work to resolve them in a timely and professional manner.Responsibilities and Duties: Provision and configure laptop equipment for new hires.Process equipment returns from departing colleagues including tracking, receiving, provisioning for re-deployment, or preparing for recycling.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical problems using available tools and resources.Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff or vendors as appropriate.Log and track all requests and incidents using the IT service management system.Follow up with customers (Calix employees) to ensure their satisfaction and close tickets.Update and maintain IT knowledge base and documentation.Participate in IT projects and initiatives as assigned.Learn and apply new technologies and best practices.​Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Strong interest and aptitude in IT support and customer service.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systemsFamiliarity with Mac OS and Apple equipment.Familiarity with common IT tools and concepts such as networking, VPN, antivirus, remote access, etc.Ability to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).Preference will be given to applicants who are currently in their Junior or Senior year of college.Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education (i.e. year in school).The average hourly rate in the U.S. for the position is listed below.San Francisco Bay Area Only:$22.00 - $29.00 USD
