About the Role:
Join Skydio as a Solutions Engineer and play a critical role in integrating cutting-edge autonomous drone technology within the Civilian Federal sector. This role is a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and collaborative influence. You will be the technical guide for federal clients, helping to tailor Skydio's innovative solutions to their complex challenges. Your work will not only impact the capabilities of federal agencies but also shape the future of autonomous flight technology in governmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical sales process, understanding and translating customer needs into technical requirements.
Perform technical discovery and demonstrate the features of Skydio product lines to secure deals.
Serve as a crucial link between product and sales teams, aligning customer requirements with Skydio’s capabilities.
Independently manage system demonstrations, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
Maintain expert knowledge of all Skydio products and technologies.
Guide system validation and customer implementations for successful deployments.
Provide federal contracting expertise, support technical writing for RFIs and RFPs, and act as a customer advocate.
Influence product roadmap and requirements by providing insights into Federal customer needs.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Willingness to travel extensively (over 50%), including potential international trips.
FAA Part 107 Certification.
Active Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
8+ years of experience with a Technical Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and technical sales experience.
Experience & Skills:
Technical, programmatic, and/or sales experience with Civilian Federal agencies, primarily non-DoD.
Knowledge in UAV systems, sensors, and government-compliant data handling.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability in technology implementation and project delivery.
Expertise in a technical area (UAV systems, radio systems, software, security, prototyping, electronics rework).
Preferred IoT, networking, or solution architecture experience.
Familiarity with facility inspections, survey, mapping, GIS systems, federal airspace compliance, and federal acquisition processes.
In this role, you will be a key player in driving the adoption of Skydio's autonomous solutions within the federal sector. Your contributions will not only influence current projects but also pave the way for future technological advancements in the industry.
Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $106,250 - $135,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
