The AppleCare Field Service Diagnostics & Repair Engineering team is seeking candidates with strong software QA experience to validate Mac / iOS diagnostic and repair tools used in field service channels. This position requires a hardworking, self-motivated individual with tenured QA experience, excellent cross-functional communication skills, and an eagerness to adjust to rapid change. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 2+ years of experience in software QA or a related field Proven understanding of software QA methodologies Curiosity and a willingness to deep dive into unfamiliar technical areas Skill in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of modern discrete and embedded hardware; experience servicing the current line of Apple products is a plus Intimate familiarity with component isolation methodology & modern software debugging techniques Confident in managing and prioritizing daily tasks Ability to distill complex technical information into clear and concise team documentation Ability to develop comprehensive, user-driven test plans from software feature descriptions and business requirements documents Strong written and verbal communication skills Thrives in a dynamic, collaborative team environment Advanced knowledge of Darwin/Unix-like operating systems and the command line for debugging; knowledge of Python or another scripting language is preferred Description Description Coordinate, complete, and track a high volume of complex repairs across multiple product categories.
Assist in the organization and maintenance of secure lab spaces.
Keep a detailed inventory of assembled products, service inventory, and individual device repair histories.
Build and complete well-structured, end-to-end test plans and test cases, integrating feedback from developers and partners throughout the process.
Use bug-tracking software to report all issues encountered during testing.
Engage developers and team leads to help drive high priority issues to resolution.
Provide program managers and team leads with timely, accurate QA status during all project testing phases.
Provide support to developers, readiness, localization, and other cross-functional teams.
Chip in to initiatives to improve the overall integration and QA process, such as identifying and closing gaps in testing coverage or inefficiencies in workflows.
