Director, Strategic AccountsStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: SalesPosition SummaryThe Director of Strategic Accounts will be responsible for managing the commercial relationship with one of our key account partners.  This role will report directly to the VP, Sales Americas within the Applications business unit.  In this role you will be responsible for partnering closely with other leaders (Product Management, Sales, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Services) to ensure that we deliver effective hydrogen solutions for our key customer and work to maximize the revenue stream for our hydrogen applications. The Director of Strategic Accounts will be the main sales point of contact with critical customer stakeholders.  This position is essential to the growth of the business and will have a primary focus on new business development within the assigned account as well as ensuring the continued success of the ongoing business relationship.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a strategic global sales plan that expands revenue for assigned key accounts.Establish and maintain long-lasting customer relationships with the key leadership and functional stakeholders by partnering with them, understanding their needs, and helping to resolve any potential roadblocks.Drive the sales process forward from planning all the way through close.Identify and drive opportunities that deliver on the client’s hydrogen energy solutions with a wholistic vision across Plug solutions and business units.Present sales and revenue forecasts to the leadership team with a focus on realistic but aggressive sales targets.Develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships and collaborate effectively throughout the business.Work to help implement new design specifications through a partnership with production and engineering to meet customer needs.Demonstrate superior project management skills with an ability to clear roadblocks and drive projects to successful implementation.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or business-related field7 or more years of overall experience in sales, account management, engineering, or a related field preferably with an energy, renewables, or industrial company.Ability to travel, as needed to perform the duties of the role, up to 50%.Desired Skillsets:Master’s degree in engineering or business.Knowledge or experience related to Hydrogen fuel, products, services, or applications.Experience working with Salesforce CRM systemsProven ability to drive the sales process from planning to close.Strong technical depth and ability to learn quickly, balanced with sharp business senseExceptional written and verbal communication skills.
