You will work on one of our core SaaS solutions, with service-based architecture that allows us to scale to meet the needs of hundreds of clients that are among the largest businesses in the world.We are looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to join this leading-edge team, to extend and enhance the wide range of services provided by our service infrastructure. The successful candidate will work with developers to test and optimize our products in pre-production, and also monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in production. This is a technical, hands-on role for someone who is adept at gathering and analyzing performance data and finding the root cause of performance bottlenecks.Your day-to-day Collaborate with members of the Engineering team to solve performance problemsProfile Java application performance using proven tools and techniquesMonitor production performance and investigate issuesDevelop tools to automate performance monitoringTest and profile new features pre-production to make sure they will scale and performBuild out test labs and environment to mimic production conditions both for performance and scaleWork with Engineering groups to help validate architecture/designs to meet product performance requirementsWhat you bring to the teamExperienced building core enterprise products/solutionsDesign and development skills in JavaAnalytics background with proficiency in Java, MySql and scripting tools such as Python and Shell scriptingProficiency with Linux and the various tools and techniques used to debug performance problems from the OS all the way up to the highest-level JavaScriptExtensive hands-on experience with performance engineering, including the use of JMeter, LoadRunner or similar tools, as well as profiling toolsExperience with distributed systemsExperience working on teams using agile development techniquesWillingness to roll up your sleeves and work hard in a fast-moving startup environmentExcellent communication skillsWhy Proofpoint  Protecting people is at the heart of our award-winning cybersecurity solutions, and the people who work here are the key to our success.  We’re a customer-focused and a driven-to-win organization with leading-edge products.
