In this role, you will be responsible for developing impactful and user-centered content for our software applications. Areas of focus will be content strategy, UX writing, onboarding experiences, content management, and localization. You will guide the conversation with users making complex features and concepts easy to understand and intuitive to use. You can apply design thinking, user empathy, and content strategy to create consistent, helpful, and engaging User Interface (UI) messaging and microcopy for cloud networking software applications.ResponsibilitiesApply content style guidelines, product voice and tone, and UX writing best practices to your deliverablesApply user research, business requirements, and messaging frameworks to create user-centered content for various screens and touchpoints, including UI labels, error messages, tooltips, notifications, emails, splash pages, and onboarding toursCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, designers, and researchers to understand requirements and ensure the usability and effectiveness of task flows supporting the messaging needs for the product features being developedConduct content audits, competitive reviews, and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement and present content strategy and solutions to support user needs and business goalsCollaborate with the localization team to ensure deliverables adhere to localization writing best practices to support accurate translation and adaptation of content for international audiences, as well as support the publishing of locale files in over 17 languages for releasesHelp establish, improve, and monitor content performance metrics, such as user satisfaction, engagement, and conversion ratesBe innovative and aware of current industry trends and best practices in content design, UX writing, and content management to mature the UX Content discipline at EquinixQualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, Communications, User Experience, or equivalent) and 3 to 4 years practical experienceProven experience working as a Content Designer, UX Writer, or similar role, preferably in the software industryPortfolio highlighting your ability to create user-centered content for software applications, including examples of exemplifying a style guide’s product voice and tone, application of content design frameworks, UX writing (before/after), user-facing emails, and writing for product onboarding experiencesExcellent command of written and verbal English, with exceptional grammar, spelling, and punctuation skillsFamiliarity with UX design principles and processes, including user research, user personas, user testing, and designAbility to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate when you need helpExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, provide rationales for content decisions, and present stories highlighting your contributions' impactProficiency in using content management and localization platforms, like GitHub, Appcues, and SmartlingFamiliarity with design and analytics tools like Figma, Miro, Amplitude, and Full StoryEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
