Senior Software Engineer, Product Adoption

Why Box needs you: Product Adoption is a central pillar at Box. The team builds tools and experiences to help all of our customers and users realize the full potential of our product, being responsible for in-app experiences and in-app messaging. Given the broad ownership, the team builds across all parts of the application, collaborating closely with a multitude of teams both within and outside of Engineering. What is more, every project the team works on is measured by its impact to Box's usage metrics, driving large impact and visibility throughout the business. Who you are:  5+ years of professional software development experience Proficiency in React and JavaScript Knowledge of a server-side language such as PHP, Node.js or Java Experience with testing principles and frameworks (Jest/Cucumber/WebdriverIO etc.) Own and drive projects from an abstract notion to gathering requirements to scoping and prioritization to implementation, testing, and release Assess, communicate and complete project milestones with manager and team members in a time sensitive manner Be the technical expert and provide guidance to junior engineers on best practices, coding standards, and complex technical issues Must speak English proficiently Bonus: Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks What you'll do:  Work collaboratively with other engineers, team members, and teams across multiple time zones Demonstrate independence and the ability to partner successfully with all stakeholders, communicating effectively in the available channels Lead projects to completion, from requirements gathering, to project planning, to architecting and designing, to coding, setting up integrations, manual and automated testing, setting up monitoring and alerting, writing internal and external documentation, and managing the deployment Attend and engage in weekly stand ups, team meetings, manager 1:1s Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture in the newly created office Represent Box Poland internally and externally Percentage of Time Spent: 40% coding 20% architecture and design work 10% coaching junior engineers and certain local leadership tasks 15% meetings 10% bug fixes 5% documentation Methodology: Agile management - Scrum Collaboration - Slack, Email Issue tracking tool - Jira Knowledge repository - GitHubEnterprise, Confluence, StackOverflow Code reviews - GitHubEntreprise  Version control system - GIT Monitoring & alerting - PagerDuty, Wavefront Interviewing - GreenHouse EQUAL OPPORTUNITY   We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
