The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Supply Chain, Production Operations, Plug Process Systems department in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary Support all Supply Chain activities in the development and maintenance of the Procurement Plan.Deep understanding of the complexities of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction process.Gain foundational skillset for Planning, Production, Logistics, Accounts Payable, Warehousing.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport PO activities related to Purchasing/Supply Chain order fulfillment, execution, and payment functions.Support the Supply Chain Manager and the Buyers in the development and maintenance of the Procurement Plan and the Logistics Plan.Support the Production Manager and Production Leads, as necessary, to expedite equipment orders, vendor documents, and free issued materials (FIM).Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships; Sourcing Personnel, Planners, Suppliers, Materials, Logistics, and Accounts Payable communicating regularly to maintain an understanding of timelines and activities which impact supply chain.Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products.Work with senior level experts and management to interpret and analyze data.Assist in developing processes with guidance from a cross function team and management.Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progressWork with Logistics on inbound shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.Host vendor progress meetings to discuss schedules and production related activities.Assist with scheduling inspections.Identify missing items that will impact assembly.Create vendor scorecards for ongoing monitoring of performance.Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and QualificationPursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Management, or a related programPrior Internship or Co-op experience preferredMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBackground/experience with statistical analysisPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
