NVIDIA is developing AV software to power L2-4 autonomy in consumer vehicles, and as part of that effort, HD mapping software is one of the most essential components in the ecosystem. HD maps are required to provide information crucial for driving, and they increase safety via redundant systems.Building large-scale HD maps at low cost is still a big challenge for the whole industry. It requires super-efficient infrastructures that can run pipelines to process petabytes of raw data from various sensors, such as LiDAR, RADAR, cameras, GPS, IMU etc. We need a variety of talents to help us build the most cost effective HD map engine which builds fresh and complete HD maps all over the world to supercharge the development of self-driving vehicles. In this role, you will work alongside leaders in the HD map industry to build a reliable, scalable and efficient HD map infrastructure.What You'll Be Doing:Build and improve a reliable HD map infrastructure in public clouds and on-premise clusters.Build infrastructure that stores PBs of data and ensure data safety in on-premise clusters.Own the effort to improve the stability, scalability and traceability of our map making pipelines.Design architectures of high-performance cloud software.Design and implement tools and libraries to boost the efficiency for other teams.Resolve a wide range of technical issues to ensure the throughput of our production pipelines.Mentor other teammates to grow fast.What we need to see:Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience.7+ years software development experience or 5+ infrastructure development experience.Strong programming in one of Python, Go, Java or C++ with robust and efficient code.Experience in software development based on AWS or other cloud providers.Experience in logging and monitoring of large distributed systems. Ability to debug issues and tuning performance.Experience in task scheduling, resource management in data processing pipeline.Familiar with common data warehouse, OLAP technologies and with Kubernetes.Proven ability in technical leadership roles.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Outstanding problem solving skills.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Experience in streaming data processing using Kafka and Flink.Background in AWS CloudFormation, CDK or other infrastructure orchestration tools.Experience in building infrastructure for AI.Good networking and hardware knowledge.
