Summary:The Industry Principal - Accounting & Finance (A&F) provides practitioner insights acquired through knowledge of Accounting & Finance processes that inform marketing and sales strategies for Workiva solutions within area of expertise. These insights includes thought leadership, buyer persona and product positioning, sales training, and other marketing support that drive desired outcomes for Workiva's marketing and sales efforts. The Industry Principal - A&F is a subject matter expert (SME), is aligned to a traditional product marketer within their area of expertise, and supports a broad cross-departmental team aligned to Workiva solutions and marketing campaigns. This role applies deep Accounting & Finance practitioner experience to help traditional marketing and sales teams understand the inherent challenges faced by practitioners and how Workiva's solutions can solve them. This role uses solution experience to help current and potential Workvia customers understand how Workiva solutions can be used to drive positive business outcomes. While not directly accountable for sales and marketing performance, The Industry Principal - A&F plays a critical role in helping to drive Workiva's business initiatives.What You’ll DoPartner closely with traditional product marketers and support cross-functional solution teams within the SME's area of expertiseDraft and execute thought leadership (in-person and virtual events, written content, internal trainings, etc.) to advance awareness, credibility, and progress Workiva prospects as an influencerProvide strong influence in identifying and developing marketing strategies and campaignsAssist in conceiving, developing and producing marketing artifacts through strong industry expertiseDriving customer persona training and understanding of how common technology is usedWatch for trends in the marketplace and how those trends impact Workiva's objectives including emerging market opportunitiesSupport sales efforts as needed by joining sales meetings and lending perspectives on pricing and solution licensingShare opinions and perspectives as needed within the SME's relevant practitioner expertiseConsult with Workiva team members as needed to support understanding of Workiva customers and the technology they useMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of career experience and expertise10+ years of relevant practitioner experience in accounting, finance, or related fields Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years of experiencePreferred Qualifications:Professional certifications: CPAMaster's Degree preferredStrong verbal and written communication skills directed to all levels of an organizationAbility to collaborate on go-to-market approach and strategy.Successful track record collaborating and influencing cross-functional leadership teamsDemonstrated willingness to share relevant opinions and perspectives with a high-level of self-awareness and emotional intelligenceExtraordinary project management skills Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsUp to 40% travelReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.#LI-REMOTEHow You’ll Be Rewarded:Salary range in the US: $147,000.00 - $250,000.00A discretionary bonus typically paid annuallyRestricted Stock Units granted at time of hire401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
