Design, build, monitor, and maintain data ETL pipelines that drive and support our product and analytics tools. Provide the foundation for a data-driven culture by empowering other engineers and the Product team to ask questions of the dataset in an easy, reliable way. Enable data scientists to implement NLP and ML algorithms at scale, in fault-tolerant, highly available systems. Improve and scale data operations. Build and maintain all automated solutions to get data from various sources into our platform, as well as the frameworks and processes to export this data. Remote work permitted. Salary:  $191,200 - $210,000 Location:  Crunchbase, Inc., 564 Market Street, Suite 500, San Francisco, CA 94104 Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics or a closely related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Data Scientist, Backend Engineer or a role where required experience gained. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in stated fields and three (3) years of stated experience, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics or a closely related field of study and one (1) year of experience as a Data Scientist, Backend Engineer or a role where required experience gained. Special Skills:  Also requires education, training or experience in the following: Building applications with functional architectures and mentoring others on best practices; Computer science and software engineering fundamentals; Programming in Python and SQL, conducting code reviews, a history using new technologies and best practices; Working with machine learning models. Making production pipelines with machine learning models, with monitoring and the ability to analyze results and take actions like re-deploy, train, etc.; and Working with large amounts of data with complex and effective querying and manipulation.
