Engineering Co-Op Fuel Cell Stack Testing and Data ProcessingStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: 00279Position SummaryPlug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Engineering Co-op. The Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Fuel Cell Testing Center of Excellence in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects in support of the co-op’s academic studies. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary Understand the complex multi-source data being generated daily and develop an analysis tool to automate analysisAnalysis tool must provide graphical updates and notify user if critical parameters are not matching setpointsAssist in executing fuel cell endurance testing and data analysisDevelop an understanding of fuel cell technology and how operating conditions interact with fuel cell performanceCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze dataMechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessaryAbility to independently set up experiments and monitor progressUnderstand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projectsAbility to critically analyze data in terms of stack performance and reliabilityRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related programStrong motivation to learn and apply learning to produce better fuel cell stacksPrior Internship or Co-op experience preferred but not requiredMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90Plug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
