The Intern will be responsible for assisting the EH&S Department in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s goals. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe EHS intern will engage in a variety of activities such as environmental compliance reviews, training and education, emergency preparedness planning, industrial hygiene, chemical hygiene plans and ergonomicsAssist staff with facilitating EHS orientation sessions for new hireAssist in development of EHS communications and implement sitewide EHS awareness campaignConduct EHS risk assessments of lab operationsRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsEducation and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or master's degree in Environment, Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related degree (environmental engineering, chemical safety, environmental chemistry, etc)Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferredPrefer candidates with expected graduation dates between December 2023 and 2024Must have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDetail-oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate the ability to follow -up on assigned tasks to completionMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90Plug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
