The Intern will be responsible for assisting the (High Power Stationary Team) in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary Fuel cell product design and development - PEM Fuel cellLearn complete system architecture to develop a system around the fuel cell stack to make it a final productSystems testing at component level and system level to understand the intricacies of interaction between various sub-componentsStudy and develop control algorithms to understand how a system should function and optimizeInteract with experts in the field of fuel cell design and architecture to learn more about green energy production and consumptionDevelop communication tools by working directly with vendors and learning procurement aspect of engineeringCore Duties and Responsibilities(Duties should reflect what an Intern will learn, and be realistic to their level of experience and education) Data analysis on regular basis including tools such as Excel, Python, Jump and othersHands on testing of fuel cell systemsAssist engineering team with sub component research to find alternativesLearning PLC software and overall control logic development of fuel cell systemsDevelop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power productsWork with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze dataAssist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and managementMechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessaryAbility to independently set up experiments and monitor progressUnderstand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projectsAbility to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliabilityRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Qualification(Qualifications should be realistic and reflect the Intern’s level of experience and education. This program is meant to aid students in acquiring skills and qualifications.)
