Deep knowledge of industry best practices, with the ability to implement them working with larger team cloud, support, and the product teams.Scope:We are seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA with deep expertise in performance tuning and solving complex database issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our SQL Server databases. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with other teams to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our SQL Server databases.Primary Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure maximum performance, availability, and security.Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server.Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, including database corruption and performance problems.Perform database tuning and optimization to improve performance and scalability.Develop and implement database security policies and procedures.Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure database integration with other systems.Participate in the planning and implementation of database upgrades and migrations.Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs.Problem management - analyze & fix reported problems, work with other team members in troubleshooting problems.Troubleshooting – Performance and other issues.Proactive database monitoring for performance and other problemsTesting Upgrade packagesPreparing Upgrade packagesPerforming non-prod restores/refreshes.Expanding data filesManaging disk space and capacity planningCreating/adjusting SQL Agent JobsDatabase migrationsSQL Server installs (cluster and non-cluster) and buildsWorking with cluster systems and Virtual serversCreating stored proceduresResponding and replying to database support tickets and emailsOn-call support – pager rotation, work weekends, eveningsTeam player, fast learner, work in a fasted paced environment, share knowledge.What we are looking for:Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum of 8-12 years of relevant work experience as an Sr. MS SQL DBA Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies; preferable hands-on experience in working with AzureExperience in handling customer escalationsExperience in writing automation scripts, building application dashboards for proactive monitoring using PowerShell, Python scripting or similar technologies, ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.The right candidate should have knowledge of PowerShell, Ansible, Git Actions etc.Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Zabbix, Splunk, Solarwind).Solid understanding of cloud Infrastructure environments, specifically Windows based deployments.Excellent SQL skills and ability to write complex queries to pull and analyze data from multiple sources.Good understanding of different file formats such as YML, JSON, Parquet.Excellent organizational skills, able to take a systematic approach in resolving issues.Good communication and coordination skills and able to work efficiently under pressure.Our ValuesIf you want to know the heart of a company, take a look at their values.
