Engineering Co-OpStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: Engineering, Safety and CompliancePosition SummaryPlug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Engineering Co-op. The Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Safety and Compliance Engineering department  in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects in support of the co-op’s academic studies. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary Co-op program Learning Objectives:Hydrogen Industry and technologyStandards and regulatory requirementsFunctional SafetyIndustrial CybersecurityProject Deliverables:Visual Standards Map for Plug Power Hydrogen EcosystemVisual Map for Certification Requirements Worldwide for Plug Power Products.Duration of the program is 6-12 months and can be part time or full-time, it depends on the student’s academic program, with expected start in Spring Semester.  Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain a basic understanding of all Plug Power products.Learned about Product Compliance and Certification for North America and EU.Working with medium and large size databases.Working with Product management and Compliance Engineering on assigned tasks.Understanding of Business analyticsDeveloping Plug Power Products Compliance and Standards Visual Map based on provided databases.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related programExcellent written and verbal communication skillsData Analysis: Understanding the dataset's structure, patterns, and relationships is crucial.Programming Languages: Mastery in languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for data manipulation and visualization libraries.Data Cleaning and Preparation: Dealing with large datasets involves data cleaning, transformation, and pre-processing.Dashboard Creation: Experience in building interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or programming languages for creating user-friendly interfaces to explore data.Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityEducation and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related programPrior Internship or Co-op experience preferredMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBackground/experience with statistical analysisPossess solid hands on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookExceptional data analysis and presentation skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
