Energy Markets InternshipStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: Energy SolutionsLocation: Paris1st/2nd year student: 10 EU hourly3rd year: 11 EU hourly4th year: 12 EU hourlyMasters/PhD: 13 EU hourlyPosition SummaryYou will be part of the European “Energy Solutions” business unit, in charge of developing Plug’s own hydrogen production plants in Europe. The business unit is composed of Energy Sourcing, Business Development, Operations and Strategy teams, all based in Paris, with offices in the 17th arrondissement. Inside the Energy Solutions business unit, you will be part of the Energy Sourcing & Business Development team in charge of the sourcing of energy and the optimization of the Hydrogen production plants requiring significant capital deployment. The role is reporting to the Energy Sourcing manager. Core Duties and Responsibilities▪ Support the energy sourcing team by performing: o Energy market analysis of different European countries o Electricity price analysis(spot market, forward market, PPA price, Feed-in-tariffs…) o Electric system and price modelling (merit-order etc) o Long term PPA sourcing in Europe o RFP analysis o PPA negotiation strategy ▪ Model the optimization of the hydrogen production plants operation to generate cost-effective green hydrogen across Europe ▪ Support the business development of strategic project across Europe Education and QualificationHigh-potential individuals willing to work in a challenging international environment, with - Strong analytical skills and ability to build business models - Strong interpersonal skills, team player Ability to interact effectively and professionally within a multi-cultural environment - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to think strategically, plan and operate with both the short and long term in mind - Fluent in English with minimum one European language (German, French or Spanish) - Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI) - Proficiency in programming language such as Python is a plus.
