If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description: Broadcom Data Center Solutions Group (DCSG) is looking for an experienced engineer who is highly motivated, focused, and passionate about their work for the Systems Application Engineering (SAE) team. DCSG builds enterprise storage products for SAS/SATA/PCIe and ethernet network adapters. The DCSG SAE team is a global organization that helps customers design, integrate, and maintain enterprise-level storage and NIC products. A DCSG SAE works directly with field application engineers (FAE), development/architecture, and customers to launch new customer products and resolve reported issues. This position is located at our San Jose, CA location.Responsibilities include:Provide guidance to OEM customers on properly integrating Broadcom’s storage products into servers and custom designs. Guidance consists of architecture reviews, schematic reviews, and training customers on product features and limitationsDemonstrate Strong technical Knowledge and leadership in debugging complex issues by independently triaging the issues on hardware, software, and system componentsAnalyze, debug & root cause issues found with Broadcom storage products integrated into OEM customer production and beta level platforms and drive appropriate development teams (IC hardware, HBA hardware, Firmware or Software) to provide fix.Develop product documentation for use by customers implementing Broadcom storage productsOther duties may include:Develop software tools and methods to improve debug efficiency and customer satisfactionTrain Tier1 OEM customers, field sales, and support staff in the features and uses of Broadcom storage productsProactively engage with key customers on DCSG products, leading pre-design approval interactions to align design requirements with the product roadmap. Keep DCSG management informed of design progress and win/loss statusTrack, communicate status, and drive resolution of Customer-reported product defects.  Ensure logged customer-reported defects move forward to final disposition in an efficient and timely manner.Drive customer engagement after design approval to ensure that design NPI milestones are achieved, meeting the customer's market launch timelineOccasional travel, some of which may be internationalRequirements/Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree in related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.Experience with the system, software, hardware, and/or protocol-level debugExperience developing and debugging C/C++Experience in embedded SW/FW debug or development (firmware, drivers, BIOS) of high-speed signal productsSelf-motivated and a strong self-driven learner who learns new technologies quicklyAbility to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks with minimal supervisionAbility to quickly root cause issues in complex systemsGood written and verbal communication skills - Must be able to communicate complex technical solutions with customers and internal teamsDesirable, but not required qualities:SAS/SATA/PCIe protocols, RAID, OCP, ARM embedded processors, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzersIf you are a highly skilled System Application Engineer with a deep understanding of SAS, SATA, NVMe, and/or PCIe, and you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
