Plastics Procurement Engineer and Strategic SourcingDescription -Primary FunctionMember of the Procurement engineering professional team within HP Print Procurement and Strategic Commodities (PPSC), working for the Large Format Printers and 3D Printing businesses (LFP/3D). He/she will be accountable to manage strategic vendors and manufacturing partners mainly related to mechanical manufacturing technologies, from a business and technical stand points. He/She will work in an international organization, interacting with suppliers and organizations worldwide. He/She will have to work very close with LFP/3D Product Engineering, PPSC and R&D to lead the definition of the best sourcing strategies, select suppliers, award/remove business, make sure they provide the right quality, sustainability and cost, at the right time, while building and maintaining a strategic relationship with them. He/She will also work on the industrialization of new or modified designs related to new products development or existing products improvements, as well as helping the team to identify and implement innovation opportunities.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure the Procurement technical deliverables are met during the regular manufacturing phases and New Product Development phasesWorks with R&D and Engineering teams to optimize the new designs or design modifications in terms of Cost, Quality, Sustainability, Manufacturability, Resilience and Lead Time, and industrializes them thru the right suppliers.Makes sure that the Part Quality Control Plan is defined for each part and it is properly implemented, thru periodical Quality System Audits and Process Audits.Project Manager for assigned horizontal Procurement processes or projects, leading their implementation within the organization.Lead the effort to meet the sustainability targets related to Mechanical Technologies.Responsible for the sourcing strategy of assigned technologies for LFP and 3D business related to the Procurement Engineering organization.Building market technology and cost intelligence at part/subsystem/function level, identifying the possible suppliers.Influencing early design decisions to get the most efficient inbound supply chain for new products (dfx).Strong focus in cost control, cost reduction, and cost avoidance techniques is a must.Responsible to select and manage the assigned suppliers and technologiesIntegrating the needs of all the New Program Developments and entities (3D, LFP, Product Engineering, Global Manufacturing Operations, Distribution Centers, Service, and others), and driving their results.Negotiating with vendors pre and post Manufacturing Release Cost Reduction, and the rest of business deliverables (including terms & conditions, contracts and Intellectual Property handling).Growing a strong partner relationship by building personal empathy and thru proactive and fair interactions.Process driven mindset and creativity enough to identify potential new processes needed.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's/ Master Degree in Industrial, Materials, Supply Chain or Chemical Engineering, with professional experience in Procurement and Vendors Management.Minimum 5 years of experience on vendors / partners management in the industrial sectors. Knowledge in Textile materials, Plastic Injection, Elastomers, Foams, Filters or other Polymer and Organic Materials technologies will be highly valued.Fluent in English. Availability to travel.Solid Business skills: Strong market intelligence (intuition, inquisitiveness, strategic vision). Able to understand companies financials.Strong negotiation skills: Able to get the best deal for HP without breaking the relationship and without impacting the schedules. Good control of the communication pace. Creating empathy with the partner. Facing problematic or difficult negotiations under the positive and proactive point of view.Technical skills: Able to understand mechanical parts specifications, 2D drawings, part quality control plans, manufacturing processes, cost breakdowns. Able to build cost models, solve quality issues and perform part manufacturing process audits at suppliers site. Able to provide strong technical inputs to new designs (DFX).Project Management skills: Able to deploy cross-organizational implementation plans thru partners, timely track progress, identify deviations and proactively take corrective actions. Able to see big picture and good prioritizing skills.Strong leadership, proactive attitude, able to effectively sell own ideas, and to influence others to buy-in and follow them without having direct control. Creative mindset, innovative in the daily basis.Strong Team Building and teamwork: Able to build rapport with partners so that new ideas can be accepted smoothly; and to give/receive open and honest feedback in a positive attitude.Excellent Presentation and Communication skills: Able to integrate different organizations by actively listening toall parties to make internal tradeoff decisions and to ensure consistency in front of the partners.
