Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with Archer stakeholders to conduct required testing of integrated propulsion systems
Manage competing priorities for lab usage to best support Archer’s company goals
Build, maintain, and operate propulsion test stands in our dedicated propulsion test labs
Post process test data with Design Engineers, System Engineers, and Reliability Engineers to identify design critical operating modes and create design validation test plans
Innovate Archer’s testing processes by implementing test system designs or productivity improvements
Investigate issues discovered during testing to determine root cause and drive product improvements
Install and remove aircraft propulsion components on test stands
Utilize data acquisition HW/SW to execute component acceptance testing
Document results of test in manuals and reports
What You Need
BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ years of experience conducting physical testing and analysis of mechanical or electronic systems against detailed requirements
Experience leading and driving technical projects to completion
Experience with a diverse range of test instrumentation devices (e.g. pressure, strain, temperature measurement)
Basic working understanding of electrical circuit design, mechanical engineering, power electronics, motor drives
Experience with electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools
Basic computer skills, including the ability to use provided software for data analysis and reporting
Wind tunnel testing or rotor/propeller test experience
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with object-oriented coding language and data acquisition tools
Experience with component, system, or vehicle validation testing (FAA DO160, or equivalent)
Experience with Python, MATLAB, NI, or other data acquisition and analysis software.
Experience with HV systems and safety
Experience with integrated system communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS485 etc.)

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $138,240 - $153,600. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
