Summer InternshipStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: Service EngineeringPosition SummaryPlug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Product Service Engineering group in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project Summary Electrolyzer and GenFuel infrastructure service procedure support.Root Cause Analysis support by using Pi, jmp and/or other tools to support failure analysis.  Develop and validate trends to create alarm conditions.Collaborate with design engineering and service teams to implement field retrofits.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain a detailed understanding of Plug Power H2 Systems and Electrolyzer systemsWork with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze dataAssist in developing service procedures with guidance from senior level engineers and managementUnderstand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projectsCritically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliabilityRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related programMust have reliable transportation to the officePrior Internship or Co-op experience preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessaryAbility to independently set up experiments and monitor progressExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBackground/experience with statistical analysisPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityEstimated Base Salary Range:$20.07 - $26.90
