Summer Internship Status: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: Facilities Position Summary Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Facilities Department in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program. Project Summary Initial setup of new Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Create primary list of third party inspections and add to CMMS Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring regulatory inspections Aid in creation of and updating of drop down menus for technician use Core Duties and Responsibilities Develop an understanding of what a CMMS is and how it integrates with Facilities’ mission, goals, and processes Work with all levels of employees to develop and analyze data Assist in developing SOPs to be used by technicians for recurring regulatory work instructions Enhance mechanical aptitude and general understanding of machines and equipment Learn to use and edit information within a CMMS Understand engineering (reliability-based) concepts and how to appropriately apply them in creation of preventive maintenance procedures Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions Perform all other duties as assigned Education and Qualification Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or a related program Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred Must have reliable transportation to the office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Background/experience with work- or task-related management systems Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Ability to manage multiple assignments Experience in technical writing or willingness to learn Excellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivated Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality Pay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90Plug Power Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
