WP Engine’s all-in-one platform enables customers to design, build, power, and manage extraordinary WordPress, eCommerce, and headless sites—all thanks to a nonstop commitment to innovation, award-winning WordPress expertise, and a set of core values that guides us every day. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign automated, scalable services and systems to power WP Engine’s growing infrastructure.Technical leadership within the team and across multiple teams that utilizes emerging technologies and delivers high quality and timely code.Analyze distributed systems and implement alerts/remediations to aid engineering and support efforts.Demonstrate deep understanding of the public cloud domain and exhibit advanced skills to discover roadblocks and implement improvements to make our platform more performant, resilient, and reliable.Architect large-scale Kubernetes orchestration across various cloud providers such as Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and GCP (Google Cloud Platform).Design and manage APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to aid in the management of the production environment.Produce quality, testable, and maintainable systems with fast feedback loops.Design and implement infrastructure for serving WordPress with high availability and low latency at scale of thousands of servers. Strong understanding of Linux system performance to debug live customer systems. Understanding of trade-offs in system design for building fault tolerant systems with efficient resource and network utilization.Apply expertise in Python and Go programming languages. Develop CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (Continuous Delivery) pipelines for pushing code into production.Actively participate in team mentoring and technical leadership for the team.Provide recommendations to the management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions. May telecommute.Position Requirements Minimum Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.Five (5) years as Integration Engineer or related with software engineering experience in performing software development of distributed system and web hosting platforms.The five (5) years of experience must include the following: experience in designing and architecting large-scale distributed services using Kubernetes orchestration across various cloud providers such as Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and GCP (Google Cloud Platform); expertise in Python programming language. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide.
