The Instrumentation Incubation team is responsible for developing technologies, calibration methodologies and prototype instrumentation for the calibration and validation of Appleās products. These solutions will be used for both product development (New Product Introduction) and mass production. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related area 5+ years of professional experience Experience in the system level specification, calibration and metrology of Computational Imaging Systems for imaging, Medical Imaging or Machine Vision Applications Experience in image processing and/or computer vision algorithm development for 3D imaging/display applications Competence in data analysis Experience in algorithm development in Computer Vision or related area Self-motivated, independent and dedicated Excellent English communication and presentation skills Description Description The role of the Computational Imaging Scientist is to develop and deploy systems and algorithms for computational metrology development. (i.e. light field based metrology systems). The resulting systems will be used to solve cutting edge challenges in the product design space.
Responsibilities include:
Influence / Participate in the design of Light Field camera systems
Develop and implement algorithms for calibration, scene reconstruction tailored to both system use cases and actual prototype hardware
Define camera calibration and test procedures
Interact with and drive equipment vendors to deliver customized prototype equipment
Analyze trade-offs among performance, manufacturability and schedule Education & Experience Education & Experience MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related area
3+ years of professional experience
Experience in the system level specification, calibration and metrology of Light Field Systems for imaging, 3D display or Machine Vision Applications
Competence in data analysis
Experience in algorithm development in Computer Vision or related area
Self-motivated, independent and dedicated
