The Audio Media Technologies Group (AMT) provides the audio, video, and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including AirPods, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and macOS, as well as professional and consumer applications from Final Cut, Logic, and Listening Experience technology areas such as the Personal Sound Enhancement and Spatial Audio experiences. The Audio QA group provides audio software test support across all of these of Apple’s products and more. We are seeking a creative and organized triage engineering manager to join our team as we field audio bugs from software engineers, developers, and customers inside and outside of Apple—truly, the whole world. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in general test engineering Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience Strong problem solving and debugging skills along with a diligent mindset Exemplary written communication skills, and considerate, yet confident personal communication skills Familiarity with real-time audio handling (sample rates, buffering, PCM, drivers, etc.) Experience and familiarity with object-oriented programming fundamentals Description Description In this role, you will interact with a massive breadth of audio issues spanning across all of our hardware and software products, including accessories. Responsibilities for this role include: - Leading a team of competent triage engineers while helping them navigate their way through a sea of information that's constantly changing. - Approaching planning and decision making with thoughtfulness and mindful inclusivity. - Reading, triaging, and routing audio bugs to Audio engineering and audio-adjacent teams. - Identifying repetitive manual routines and converting them into automated tools for the team to use. - Identifying potential trends in incoming bugs and escalate to cross-functional team members. - Working directly with engineering and cross-functional, audio-adjacent screening and triage teams in order to solve complex problems. Education & Experience Education & Experience B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Music Technology, or equivalent experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,400 and $289,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
